TOMMY WROTE A BOOK!
And we brothers couldn’t be prouder.
Proudly the nerdiest triplet of The Lubben Brothers, Tommy studied English at his university, graduating as the “Outstanding Graduate of Arts and Sciences.” Now, he very rarely makes grammatical mistakes on stage.
Although his poetry, short fiction, and critical writing has been published in several academic journals and blogs, Tommy’s central creative output is now focused toward his work with The Lubben Brothers, leading him to write numerous lyrics, full songs, books to musicals, and now Folk Revivalists: Stories from the most Famous Band You’ve Never Heard Of, a labor of love that’s been writing itself since the brothers began their wild and colorful musical journey together.
You haven’t seen them topping charts.
You haven’t heard them at Madison Square Garden or The Grand Ole’ Opry.
If you’ve ever heard their name, it’s probably only been mispronounced (even Netflix misspelled it).
They’ve taken the dirt paths, the backroads of America. But the influence, the inspiration, has been prolific, and in Folk Revivalists: Stories from the Most Famous Band You’ve Never Heard Of, a window into the crazy and rewarding life of a Lubben Brother is opened wide. At once a diary and a treatise, Folk Revivalists recounts in raw detail the scrappy, hilarious—sometimes dangerous—and always rewarding journey the brothers have undertaken as an independent, touring band determined to carry on the legacy of the great American folksingers who have inspired them.
